StudentBerry has been undergoing several changes over the past few weeks, which is why things have been so quiet around here. First, and most importantly, our name has changed. We are no longer going by StudentBerry, but have instead opted to be called StudentDocket. We felt that the name StudentBerry was a little too limiting, and we’re excited for a fresh start under the new name.

You can check out the new, all be it quite similar, site at http://www.StudentDocket.com. Nothing too new going on over there just yet, but you can expect several changes within the coming weeks as we roll out new and exciting features for StudentDocket.

We’ve also decided to drop the StudentBerry forums, in favor of GetSatisfaction, a community of companies and users devoted to improving the Customer Service experience. Though the forums were great, and allowed us to communicate with you guys fairly closely, the sign up process was pretty intimidating, and frankly unnecessary. With GetSatisfaction, you are no longer forced to register just for us, which we’re hoping encourages more people to get involved.

So let us know what you think over at the new site. You can expect our extended network to be updated shortly, with more exciting announcements along the way. So check back often, you won’t regret it!

Just a quick note that our forums will be undergoing an update early this afternoon.  Hopefully all will go well and this message will end up being unnecessary, but just in case I wanted to give you all a heads up!

We apologize for the silence over the past few weeks.  We’ve been hard at work on some new features for StudentBerry!

Currently we are testing a release that ads integration with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and allows for data backups.  Also included are a few minor enhancements based on user feedback  as well as a revamping of how StudentBerry handles the trial period notifications.  This will really just be a small update we’re pushing out to address some of the more important issues, but expect some larger releases to follow shortly!

Thus far the trials are going pretty well, so expect the update within the week!  As always, you can keep track of StudentBerry’s progress by signing up for our mailing list along the right hand side.

We’ve decided to go ahead and jump on the FaceBook bandwagon by creating a page for StudentBerry.  We’d like to welcome you to be one of the first people to take a look!  It’s a great way to show your support for StudentBerry and share it with your friends.  We appreciate any comments, joins, discussions, etc…!  To view the page, simply head on over to the StudentBerry FaceBook Page and sign up! It’s a little on the baron side at the moment, but expect updates shortly.

So after some bug fixing and testing and bug fixing and testing we’ve got something we are satisfied with as users and as developers, and we want to share it with you. We are very close to finishing up our baby and we wanted to give you an update on how we are doing. We’ve come a long way from the screen shots we posted a while back, and we’re pretty happy with the final product. So, check back on Tuesday, we will have Studentberry ready to go!

The forums have been removed for a short while. In the process of investigating how to drive some traffic to them, it came to my attention that they really weren’t working all that well. I’m not sure if they were receiving any attention anyways, but best to take them down while I sort the situation out. No worries, they should return fairly quickly. In the meantime, feel free to sign up for our mailing list to receive up-to-date information on the release of StudentBerry. December is going to be an exciting month. Also, we were feeling pretty left out of the “large rss button” phenomenon, so we’ve decided to hop on the band wagon. It’s large, it’s obnoxious, and when you click on it you’ll be kept up-to-date with all of our progress here at StudentBerry. Who knows, you may get some useful Blackberry tips every now and then as well. Update: A Second special thank you to John for the new rss logo. It’s just as big, but not nearly as obnoxious. Let’s call it a compromise of sorts.

Some exciting news is coming just around the corner everyone. Oh yes, even more exciting than logos and big orange blue and black buttons. Keep an eye on StudentBerry or sign up for our e-mail notifications (or perhaps you’re in the mood to press a large button?), you won’t regret it!

I’ve decided to add some forums to the StudentBerry site. The main reason for this is that we’d really like you all to get involved by telling us just what exactly you’d like to see from StudentBerry. The initial release is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean we can’t begin coming up with some new features already! Also, until further notice, the forums will now act as your means to get in contact with us here at StudentBerry. So go ahead and drop on in and shoot us a question or maybe some suggestions! In other news, screen shots are well on their way and should be available in no time. We just want to make sure every thing is good and polished looking for the camera. See you in the forums!
